Obverse description Central type featuring a tall, stylized date palm tree with drooping fronds depicted in low relief, flanked on either side by the Hebrew letters shin (ש) to the right and mem (מ) to the left, abbreviating the name Shimon (Simon bar Kokhba). The inscription is rendered in paleo-Hebrew script characteristic of the Bar Kokhba revolt coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the design struck off-center as is typical of this hammered issue.

Reverse description Central motif consisting of a grape vine or vine leaf cluster, rendered in a bold, schematic style characteristic of Bar Kokhba revolt bronzes. Encircling the central motif is a Hebrew paleo-script legend reading 'Year one of the redemption of Israel,' distributed around the full circumference of the coin. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with the emergency coinage character of this series produced during the revolt of 132–135 CE.
