| Obverse description | Monogram of Odovacar rendered in a cruciform arrangement within a wreath or circular border, occupying the central field of the obverse. The monogram, composed of the letters of the name ODOVACR interlocked, is the principal design element, characteristic of late Roman and post-Roman barbarian coinage conventions. The style is crude and typical of the debased nummus coinage of the late fifth century. No portrait or effigy is present; the monogram serves as the sole identifier of the issuing authority. |

| Reverse description | Central field bearing a monogram or abbreviated legend, struck in low relief on a small, irregularly shaped bronze flan typical of late antique nummi. The design is crudely executed, consistent with the debased coinage of the Odovacar period at Ravenna. The reverse monogram or legend reference echoes the obverse in identifying the ruler, following the convention of barbarian successor-state coinages derived from late Roman prototypes. The surfaces show significant wear and corrosion, as expected for bronze issues of this period. |
