| Obverse description | Uniface trial piece with entirely blank obverse field, save for a central circular hole punched through the planchet. The surrounding annular field shows no device, legend, or inscription of any kind, consistent with its status as a reverse-only trial strike. Minor die-contact marks and surface granularity are visible across the plain field. |

| Reverse description | A bold six-pointed star (hexagram), formed by two interlocking equilateral triangles in raised relief, dominates the reverse field and surrounds the central circular hole. The points of the star extend nearly to the milled border, with each triangular face rendered in clean, flat relief. The circular legend BRITISH WEST AFRICA is distributed around the upper and lateral periphery of the field, reading within the spaces between the star's points, with the divided date 1920 placed in the lower exergual area between two raised dots, the digits flanking the central hole at the base.
