Obverse description Frontal bust of a bishop or ecclesiastical figure rendered in crude Romanesque style, depicted facing the viewer and wearing a mitre or episcopal headdress. The figure holds a crozier in the left hand and an additional attribute, possibly a book or scepter, in the right hand. A partial Latin legend runs along the upper periphery of the irregularly flan, partially visible due to the struck area. The overall design is characteristic of early medieval Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage, with bold, deeply struck relief against a plain field.
