Obverse description Central rosette or wheel motif with multiple radiating petals occupying the field, surrounded by four stylized foliate or leonine forms arranged symmetrically at the cardinal points. A small schematic facing head or mask appears at the top of the design, rendered in the crude but expressive Romanesque style typical of 12th-century Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennigs. The overall composition is densely decorated with interlocking organic forms, leaving little open field. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hand-hammered medieval coinage of this period.
