Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in three or four horizontal lines within a plain circular border. The angular, square Kufic script is characteristic of Almoravid coinage of the late 11th century. The legend references the religious formula and the name of the ruling amir Abu Bakr b. 'Umar. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, typical of hammered silver fractional coinage of this period.

Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription disposed in horizontal registers within a plain circular border, with a distinctive fan-shaped or palmette ornament visible at the upper portion of the field. The inscription contains the Islamic profession of faith (shahada) and Quranic citations standard to Almoravid fractional silver coinage. The flan edges are irregular and ragged, consistent with hand-cut hammered planchets. The relief is bold despite the small module of this qirat denomination.
