Obverse description Central legend in three horizontal lines reading 北洋造 (Made in Peiyang) at top, 光緒通寶 (Guangxu Tongbao) in the middle, and 庫平七錢二分 (Kuping 7 Mace 2 Candareens) at bottom, all rendered in traditional Chinese regular script (kaishu). The inscription references the Kuping standard, the official treasury weight system used for taxation purposes during the Qing dynasty. The field is plain with a dentilated border.
