Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of King Sauromates II facing right, rendered in the local Bosporan style blending Hellenistic and Eastern artistic conventions. The royal diadem is clearly visible, and the drapery is rendered in broad folds over the shoulder. A Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field, reading ΒΑϹΙΛΕΩϹ ϹΑΥΡΟΜΑΤΟΥ, identifying the king by his royal title and name. The entire design is set within an irregular beaded border characteristic of Panticapaean bronze coinage of the period.

Reverse description Central field displays the Greek numeral MH (denoting the value 48 units) in bold, raised characters, enclosed within a laurel wreath tied at the base. An elongated leaf or berry motif crowns the apex of the wreath. The whole composition is framed by a beaded border, consistent with standard Bosporan bronze denominations of the reign of Sauromates II. The design is plain but boldly executed, with no additional legend or exergual inscription.
