Obverse description Central field dominated by the Shia kalima inscribed within an ornate hexagonal cartouche, executed in flowing nastaliq script. The declaration of faith fills the geometric frame with densely interlaced calligraphic strokes, characteristic of Safavid die-cutting artistry. Secondary inscriptions occupy the spaces between the points of the hexagon and extend into the surrounding field. The entire design is set against a flat, undecorated ground with no border legend, as typical of the Fourth Eastern Standard type. The flan is irregular in shape, as is customary for hammered coinage of this period.
Obverse script Arabic/Persian (nastaliq)
Obverse lettering لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله علي ولي الله
