Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic religious legend in bold nasta'liq script, typically incorporating the Shi'a kalima with the names of the Twelve Imams, arranged in horizontal registers across the flan. A secondary marginal legend encircles the central text, running along the irregular border of the coin. The die-engraving is characteristic of the Third Western Standard of Tahmasp I's coinage, with deeply incised strokes and a slightly uneven flan typical of hammer-struck production. The surface displays natural die wear and a lightly toned silver patina consistent with mid-sixteenth century Safavid mint practice.
