| Obverse description | Central field features a chalice (omer cup) with a beaded base and two handles, surmounted by a pellet above the rim, rendered in high relief in the ancient Hebrew (Paleo-Hebrew) script tradition. Surrounding the central device, the circular legend in Paleo-Hebrew reads 'Sheqel of Israel' with the year notation Aleph (year 1) positioned to the lower left of the cup. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of Judaean coinage of the First Revolt period. The engraving is bold and deeply struck, reflecting the urgency and symbolic intent of the revolutionary mint. |
