Obverse description Bust of Sigismund Augustus in three-quarter profile to the right, wearing a crown and armour with an elaborate ruff collar, in high relief. The lower field bears a bilingual legend giving the subject's name in Lithuanian and Latin with dates 1520–1572, framed by a beaded border. The outer legend referencing the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania runs along both sides in curved relief.
