Obverse description Head of Turms (the Etruscan equivalent of Hermes/Mercury) facing right, wearing a broad-brimmed petasos helmet rendered in archaic Etruscan style; the facial features are executed with bold, summary relief typical of Populonian coinage of the third century BC. The hair is visible beneath the helmet brim, falling in schematic locks. The overall style reflects the transitional influence of late Classical Greek coinage on Etruscan minting traditions.

Reverse description Plain field bearing two raised pellets or dots arranged in the upper portion of the flan, serving as the denomination mark for 5 Asses. The surface is otherwise uninscribed and largely flat, consistent with the characteristic reverse treatment of the Populonian silver As series. The flan is irregular in shape with a slightly uneven surface, as expected for hammered coinage of this period.
