Reverse description A bold Latin cross pattée occupies the central field, its shaft terminating above a prominent pellet at the base, typical of Merovingian tremissis reverse types derived from late Roman and Byzantine prototypes. The cross is rendered in high relief with slightly flared terminals. Surrounding the cross in the border is the moneyer's legend in retrograde or irregular Latin letters, reading LANDIGISILOS MO, identifying the moneyer Landegisilus responsible for the issue. The flan is irregular and slightly wavy at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period.
