| Obverse description | The Cuban coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion shows a rising sun over a seascape with a key representing the island's strategic position, while the lower portion bears diagonal stripes and a royal palm tree. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a fasces and flanked by a wreath of oak leaves to the left and laurel to the right, tied at the base. Five six-pointed stars arc along the lower field. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA curves along the upper periphery within a beaded border, with the fineness notation 900 at left and FINO at right flanked by stars. |
