| Obverse description | Highly abstracted and fragmented derivation of an Apollo head facing right, rendered in the late La Tène Celtic artistic tradition. The design features stylised wreath elements with upward-pointing leaves, crescent motifs, and a draped cloak suggested by curved lines. A distinctive spike-with-curve device occupies the central field, a hallmark of the Westerham type. The overall composition is boldly geometric, with individual facial and vegetal elements dissolved into a pattern of pellets, arcs, and crescents characteristic of British Iron Age coinage. |
