| Obverse description | Right-facing helmeted head of Athena Parthenos rendered in high relief, wearing an elaborate Attic helmet adorned with a central palmette finial and scrolled volutes along the bowl. The visor is raised, revealing a finely modeled profile with a sensitively rendered eye and delicate lips. Flowing hair escapes from beneath the helmet in wavy locks, falling gracefully along the neck. The helmet cheekpiece is decorated in relief, consistent with the late New Style coinage artistic tradition of Athens. A dotted border frames the periphery of the flan. |
