| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Melqart (the Phoenician Herakles), facing right, with strongly modelled features including a prominent nose and short beard, the hair rendered in thick, naturalistic curls beneath a wreath of laurel leaves. The portrait displays the vigorous Hellenistic style characteristic of late Seleucid-influenced Phoenician coinage. A dotted border encircles the entire obverse field.
