Motonava Transilvania was one of several Romanian state enterprise canteens and internal supply networks that issued scrip during the communist consolidation period. These tokens of exchange — technically vouchers rather than banknotes — circulated exclusively within a closed system, redeemable only at designated enterprise outlets. The issuing authority had no formal banking status, which is precisely why notes like this fall outside standard Pick catalog coverage and remain poorly documented.
The 1949–1966 date range reflects the full span of issue rather than a single print run, and distinguishing earlier from later examples without internal serial evidence is genuinely difficult.
