Reverse description A Chi-Rho monogram (Christogram) with the Greek letters alpha and omega suspended from the crossbar, set above a globus, all within a beaded border. The composition closely follows Byzantine tremissis reverse types but is executed in the distinctive Frankish manner, with the Chi-Rho rendered as a bold, slightly irregular device. The encircling legend, reading from the top, identifies both the mint city of Vienne and the moneyer Laurentius.
