Suinthila ruled as the first Visigothic king to control the entire Iberian Peninsula, having driven out the last Byzantine garrisons from the southeast by around 624 — a consolidation that made issues from his reign politically charged markers of that achievement. The Córdoba mint was one of the more active southern production centers, positioned in formerly contested territory.
CNV 286 / Pliego 367 places this solidly within the documented Córdoba sequence, though tremisses of Suinthila show considerable die variation across mints, and individual piece attribution occasionally requires careful comparison against reference dies.
