| Reverse description | Plain reverse with a series of small punched or raised globular marks arranged along the left margin of the roughly rectangular flan, a feature commonly associated with Ujjain-type cast copper coinage of the early historic period. The remainder of the field is largely flat and undecorated, covered with dark green and brown patination. The surface texture is irregular, reflecting the crude casting technology employed. The punch-marked and cast copper issues of the Ujjain region circulated across the Malwa plateau during a period when the city was one of the most commercially active nodes on the subcontinent's inland trade routes. Ujjain's position connecting the northern Gangetic networks with western coastal ports meant its coinage passed through merchant hands far beyond its issuing territory — excavated specimens have turned up at sites well outside the regional core.
At 0.65 g, this falls toward the lighter end of the Ujjain copper series, consistent with fractional units documented in hoard evidence from Madhya Pradesh.
