| Reverse description | The reverse carries a richly detailed vignette of multiple zoo animals — ring-tailed lemurs, a raccoon, and an owl among others — set before a stylised zoo enclosure rendered in fine line engraving over a violet and salmon underprint. A portrait of Charles Darwin appears in intaglio-style line work at the upper right. The zoo's name and promotional slogan are inscribed at the upper left, with the "ZOOLAR" and "Ochrana živočíšnych druhov" legends at the lower edge, and a serial number with suffix "SK" at the lower right. |

Zoo Spišská Nová Ves is a small municipal zoo in the Spiš region of eastern Slovakia, and this note belongs to a series of souvenir "zoolar" issues — a collector-friendly format that a number of European zoos have adopted, typically tying each denomination or design to a specific resident species. The Eurasian lynx is a natural choice for a Slovak zoo; the animal was extirpated from the Carpathians during the 19th century and has been the subject of contested reintroduction efforts in the region ever since.
Printing by Štátna Tlačiareň Cenín — the Slovak state security printer in Bratislava — lends the piece genuine technical credibility, produced on the same presses responsible for official Slovak banknotes and documents.
