Euro Souvenir notes are a legal-tender curiosity that are, in practice, worth exactly nothing as currency — the 0 euro denomination is recognized under European law but issued purely as a collector piece. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them to the same security specification used for circulating banknotes, which is much of the commercial appeal. Designer Małgorzata Pławecka-Jasek's involvement points to the deliberate commissioning of local creative talent for Polish-themed issues, a consistent editorial choice within the Euro Souvenir program.
Cracow joined a long roster of cities and landmarks that have used the format since its commercial launch around 2015.
