The Episcopal Palace at Astorga was designed by Antoni Gaudí beginning in 1889, commissioned after a fire destroyed the previous structure. It is one of only two Gaudí buildings outside Catalonia and remained unfinished during his lifetime after a dispute with the diocese led him to abandon the project in 1893.
