Miki Muster was the Slovenian cartoonist behind Zvitorepec, Trdonja, and Lakotnik — characters who first appeared in 1953 and became the most widely read comic strip in Yugoslav history, running in Nedeljski dnevnik for decades. The zero-euro souvenir note program, administered through licensed distributors and printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire, has increasingly leaned into Central European cultural figures, and Muster is a logical choice: genuinely iconic in the region, almost unknown outside it.
These collector pieces carry real security features despite having no redemption value anywhere — a deliberate policy to maintain consistency with circulating euro production standards.
