EuroSouvenir notes occupy a peculiar niche: legal tender novelties worth exactly nothing, sold for several euros each, commemorating institutions that have nothing to do with currency issuance. The Musée Océanographique de Monaco, founded by Prince Albert I in 1910, is a natural fit for the format — it has always traded on spectacle. Oberthur Fiduciaire printed this one, as they do the majority of the souvenir euro series, bringing genuine security-printing infrastructure to what is essentially a tourist keepsake. R. Faille's signature appears as C.E.O. of EuroSouvenir, the Belgian commercial operation that holds the licensing arrangement.
