The EuroSouvenir 0 Euro program, administered through licensed European cultural and heritage sites, uses genuine banknote-grade paper and is printed by one of the major security printers active in actual euro production. Oberthur Fiduciaire's involvement lends these notes a finish indistinguishable from circulating currency to the untrained eye — which is entirely the point of the series.
Angelo Roncalli, elected pope in 1958 at age 76 and widely expected to be a caretaker, instead convened the Second Vatican Council in 1962 — one of the most consequential institutional decisions of the 20th century. He died before it concluded. Beatified in 2000, canonized alongside John Paul II in 2014.
