Porer is a small Croatian island lighthouse south of Pula, and this souvenir zero-euro commemorates it as part of the Eurosouvenirs programme administered by the Union Européenne des Partenaires de Loisirs. The notes are printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire — one of the same security printers supplying genuine euro banknotes — on paper with authentic security features including a holographic strip and UV-reactive elements. Not legal tender anywhere, but produced to genuine banknote specification.
Croatia adopted the euro on 1 January 2023, meaning this piece was issued the year before the country became an actual eurozone member.
