Memo Euros are educational novelty notes produced to introduce children and young adults to banknote security features in a hands-on format. The EUROscope series was developed in partnership with Dutch printer Joh. Enschedé, one of Europe's oldest and most technically accomplished security printers — a firm that has produced stamps and banknotes for dozens of countries since the early eighteenth century. The Antwerpen edition is city-branded, distributed through local cultural and educational programs as a collector souvenir rather than any form of tender.
The security thread and hologram are genuine, not simulated, which is precisely the point.
