Not a banknote in any monetary sense — the Memo Euro series is a line of souvenir novelties produced by Euroscope, printed to euro-format dimensions for the tourist trade. Checkpoint Charlie is among the most commercially exhausted sites in Berlin, and the choice is unsurprising. What gives this piece modest collector interest is the printer: Enschedé in Haarlem has been producing security printing since 1703 and holds a genuine place in banknote history, having printed currency for dozens of nations. Their involvement here is purely commercial, but the production quality reflects it.
