The denomination of zero was mandated precisely to prevent any confusion with legal tender. Dresden's Frauenkirche was a logical subject — the church's postwar reconstruction, completed in 2005 after decades as a deliberate ruin under the GDR, has made it one of the most symbolically loaded rebuilding projects in modern German history.
