The United States has never issued a 1,000,000 dollar denomination — the largest denomination ever produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for circulation was the $10,000 Federal Reserve Note, last printed in 1945. Notes of this type are manufactured as gag gifts and souvenirs, produced by private printers with no authorization from the U.S. Treasury.

Possession is generally legal in the U.S. provided the note is not passed as genuine currency — a difficult feat given the nonexistent denomination.
