Bradbury Wilkinson produced this note during a period when Iraq was still relying heavily on British security printers despite the Ba'athist government's push toward economic and political independence following the 1968 coup. The relationship was purely commercial — BW held contracts with dozens of governments simultaneously, and Iraq was one of many.
The half-dinar denomination was phased out of practical relevance fairly quickly as inflation eroded its purchasing power through the 1970s. Circulated examples tend to show heavy wear at the folds, consistent with low-denomination notes that pass through many hands before retirement.
