| Obverse description | Circular cast bronze disc with a central round hole (yuan qian type), bearing the two-character place-name inscription 济阴 (Jiyin) cast in archaic Chinese seal script, disposed to the left and right of the central perforation within the field. The characters are rendered in low relief with somewhat irregular, hand-finished casting lines typical of Warring States period bronze coinage. The flan is irregular in outline with a rough, granular surface patinated in deep red cuprite with areas of green malachite encrustation, consistent with prolonged burial. No rim is present; the coin exemplifies the early round-holed cash form associated with the Wei state's western commandery coinage. |
