Obverse description Left-facing bare-headed effigy of King George V occupies the central field, rendered in bold relief with fine detail to the hair, beard, and facial features. The king is depicted with a short beard and wearing no adornment, consistent with the standard portrait used on British Commonwealth coinage of the period. The circular legend GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT:OMN:REX curves along the upper periphery, and the date 1921 appears in the lower field beneath the portrait. The coin's square format with rounded corners frames the design within a raised border.
