Obverse description Obverse of this hammered cob (macuquina) issue displays the mintmaster initials T.L. in the upper field separated by a central pellet, with the date 1823 prominently struck in the lower field. The legends and devices are boldly rendered in the crude cob style characteristic of early Honduran republican coinage, struck on an irregularly shaped planchet with a milled border visible along portions of the flan edge.
