Obverse description Central design featuring a tall classical column surmounted by a globe, above which rises a five-pointed star. A flowing ribbon banner bearing the legend LIBERTAD arcs over the column, its ends terminating in stylized volutes. The circular legend UNION Y FUERZA is distributed around the upper field, with the date and assayer initial flanking the column base in the lower field. The entire design is contained within a finely toothed milled border.
