| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of George Washington in high relief, closely modeled after the standard Washington quarter effigy. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs along the upper rim, while LIBERTY appears in the left field and IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in three lines to the right of the portrait. The fantasy inscription CLOSE QUARTERS curves along the lower rim in place of the standard date, distinguishing this piece from a regular-issue quarter. |
