Reverse description Central device comprising four heraldic emblems of the United Kingdom arranged around a surmounting Imperial Crown: the Tudor rose of England at lower left, the thistle of Scotland at lower right, and a fleur-de-lis at the base, all framing a central vertical composition beneath the crown. The engraver's initials K·G (George Kruger Gray) appear at the foot of the fleur-de-lis. Two six-pointed stars flank the upper legend. The circumferential legend reads MAURITIUS at the top and QUARTER·RUPEE·1934 along the lower arc, all within a toothed border.
