| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the crowned and armored bust or heraldic figure of Ferdinand I, King of Bohemia and Hungary, rendered in the late Gothic–Renaissance hammered style typical of Joachimsthal coinage. The date 1548 is divided across the central field flanking the main device. A beaded inner circle separates the central type from the surrounding peripheral legend. The circumferential Latin legend, interrupted by pellet stops, reads FERDINAN D G ROM BOE HVNG & RE, proclaiming Ferdinand's titles as King of Rome, Bohemia, and Hungary. The overall execution reflects the vigorous, slightly irregular strike characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century hammered silver coinage. |
