Obverse description Central device comprises the national emblem of Pakistan: a crescent moon opening to the right with a five-pointed star in the upper left, surmounted above a stylised tughra-style calligraphic rendering of 'حکومتِ پاکستان' (Government of Pakistan) in Urdu script occupying the lower field. The Latin legend 'GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN' arcs along the upper periphery following the scalloped border. The overall composition is rendered in moderate relief against a flat field, consistent with a pattern striking.
