Velká Amazonie, o.p.s. — "Great Amazonia" — was a Czech non-governmental organization focused on Amazon conservation. This note is not legal tender in any jurisdiction; it was produced as a fundraising and awareness piece, with the denomination "Ara" being a invented unit named after the macaw genus. The choice of Victoria Security Printing and engraver René Stoněk gives it genuine intaglio credentials — this is not a novelty print job, but a properly produced security document by one of Central Europe's established specialist printers.

Jan Dungel is a respected Czech illustrator and naturalist known for precise zoological draughtsmanship. His involvement explains why the artwork on this piece is markedly more accurate than comparable conservation-themed ephemera.
