| Obverse description | The obverse presents the armorial achievement of the British East India Company in high relief at the center of the field: a quartered shield bearing the cross of St. George and the arms of England, supported by two rampant lions facing inward. Two flagpoles rise behind the shield, each bearing a flag, with a passant lion sejant erect atop a crown serving as the crest above the central composition. A flowing ribbon scroll beneath the supporters carries the Latin legend in two lines, reading AUSPICIO REGIS ET SENATUS ANGLIÆ, with the date 1810 struck in large numerals along the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner border and a milled outer rim. |
