This is a modern Russian Federation restrike — not an 18th-century issue. The "Catherine II Chervonets" restrikes were produced as collector and bullion-adjacent pieces, trading on imperial nostalgia rather than historical monetary function. The original chervonets denomination under Catherine II was itself irregular in production and primarily used for trade rather than domestic circulation.

Gold-plated composition places this squarely in the souvenir tier.
