Aanvullende informatie

The Chervonets denomination revived under Soviet monetary reform carries its own layered history, but this restrike issued under the Russian Federation explicitly honors Paul I — the Tsar assassinated in 1801 after a reign of just four years, largely despised by the Russian nobility he antagonized at nearly every turn. The original Paul I gold coinage was itself historically thin, his short reign producing limited numismatic output before the coup that killed him.

Federation-era restrikes of this type were produced for the collector market, not circulation.
