| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in blue-black and red on white paper, centred by an intaglio vignette of a seated allegorical female figure — representing Agriculture or the Harvest — resting beside sheaves of grain and a basket of produce. Ornate guilloche panels bearing a large numeral '1' flank the central vignette on both sides, with the bank title 'EL BANCO SALVADOREÑO' arched across the top cartouche and the legend 'PAGARÁ A LA VISTA AL PORTADOR' below it. The denomination 'UN COLON' appears in large letterpress text along the lower portion, with the place and date of issue 'SAN SALVADOR, 1º DE JUNIO DE 1920' and 'SERIE A' printed at the sides. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is printed in brown-red, with a central intaglio portrait of a classical female head — possibly an allegorical representation of the Republic — set within an ornate oval frame and surrounded by intricate guilloche latticework. The Salvadoran national coat of arms appears as an oval vignette stamp to the left, and a large handstamped inscription 'TOMADA RAZON' with the date 'San Salvador, 5 de Abril de 1921' is applied across the upper portion of the note. The imprint of the American Bank Note Company is visible along the lower margin. |
