Beschrijving keerzijde At the center of the field, a stylized ear of wheat — the emblem of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — is depicted in relief. The denomination '1 DENAR' appears in Latin script alongside '1 ДЕНАР' in Cyrillic. The FAO motto 'FIAT PANIS' in Latin and its Macedonian equivalent 'ЛЕБ ЗА СИТЕ' are inscribed in the field. The organization's founding year and the anniversary span 'FAO 1945–1995' commemorate the 50th anniversary of the FAO. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued as part of Macedonia's FAO World Food Summit coinage in 1995, this piece belongs to a broader international program that prompted dozens of countries to release commemorative circulation strikes tied to global food security initiatives. Macedonia, having declared independence from Yugoslavia only in 1991 and still navigating international recognition disputes — Greece blocked its admission to the UN under the name "Macedonia" until a compromise designation was reached — used participation in supranational programs like this one as a quiet form of diplomatic normalization. KM#5a distinguishes this from the base 1 Denar type by alloy alone.
