Opmerkingen

Libya's shift from the pound to the dinar in 1971 accompanied the reorganization of the banking system following Muammar Gaddafi's 1969 revolution, with the new Central Bank replacing the Bank of Libya as the note-issuing authority. Bradbury Wilkinson, the New Malden firm with a long history of printing currency for former British territories, retained the contract through the transition — a pragmatic continuity that sat somewhat awkwardly with the new government's anti-Western posture.

The series ran across nearly a decade without a major redesign, which is itself unusual for a politically volatile period. Bradbury Wilkinson ceased operations in 1990 when it was absorbed into De La Rue.
