Jordan's Central Bank was not formally established until 1964 — the 1952 series was actually issued by the Jordan Currency Board, a transitional authority set up after the country severed its monetary link with the Palestinian pound following the 1948 war and the annexation of the West Bank. Pick cataloguing sometimes attributes these early issues loosely to the "Central Bank," which causes confusion.
Thomas De La Rue's involvement here is unremarkable for the region — they held printing contracts across most newly independent Arab states through the 1950s. The watermark remains the primary security feature, consistent with the rest of the series.
